The Dublin Shakespeare Society
Two One-Act Plays in Teachers' Club - 23 to 27 Feb

The Dublin Shakespeare Society is presenting two One Act Plays in the Teachers Club, Theatre @ 36 Parnell Square West from Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 February at 8pm

'Faint Voices' by John Mac Kenna directed By Mary Dowling and based on the love affair between Frank Ledwidge and Ellie Vaughey.

Also 'The Nightingale and not the Lark' by Jennifer Johnston directed by Niall O'Kennedy.

Three members of Balally Players are involved in 'The Nightingale and Not the Lark' - Niall O'Kennedy is directing, Rupert Heather is Production Manager and Muriel Caslin O'Hagan is a member of the cast.

The Dublin Shakespeare Society
Lecture and Rehearsed Readings - Teachers' Club - Jan to May

The Dublin Shakespeare Society is hosting a series of evening events in the Teachers' Club (T@36), Parnell Square, Dublin between Januray and May of this year. The first evening event on Wednesday 20 January at 8pm, features a lecture by Professor Christopher Murray on the topic of ‘Outsiders in Irish Society 1900 to 1960’. This lecture will be followed by a series of rehearsed readings of plays on the topic each month from January to May 2010 also at the Teachers’ Club.

Admission is €5 and includes refreshments (tea & biscuits) and a facilitated discussion. The readings will start at 7:30pm and no advance booking is required.

Romeo & Juliette - the Opera
Gaiety Theatre - February and March 2010

Opera Ireland say it's "the perfect Valentines Gift - A date at the Opera to see Romeo et Juliette by Charles Gounod".

This new production of Romeo and Juliette, the most romantic story ever told, sung in French with English subtitles, stars the celebrated French soprano Nathalie Manfrino and American tenor Michael Spyres as the star-crossed lovers. It runs for five performances at the Gaiety Theatre on: 27 February, 1, 3, & 5 March at 8pm, Matinee Sunday 7th March at 2.30pm Tickets from €10 (Season Tickets, Student and Group Discounts available)

I Capuletti e I Montecchi by Vincenzo Bellini. This concert performance, sung in Italian with English subtitles, gives a different interpretation of the story based on the battle between Romeo and Juliet's families, the Capulets and the Montagues. Belliniâ's exquisite music is sure to bring a tear to any eye! Glenamaddy Drama Festival
April 2010

The Glenamaddy Theatre Festival will play host to the All-Ireland Confined Drama Festival in April 2010 where the top nine plays from the season battle it out to see who takes the overall prize.

The Mill Theatre website has all the information you need on the theatre as well as a comprehensive list of all the shows coming up.

The theatre Box Office is open from Monday to Saturday between 10am and 6pm and the theatre re-opens at 7pm when there is an evening performance. Alternatively, you can phone 01-296 9340 to make a credit card booking.

To book tickets online...
On the theatre website click the button beside your chosen performance and follow the instructions. You should note that there is a €1 booking fee per ticket and you cannot choose your seats online, you are automatically allocated the next available seat.

To book tickets at the theatre...
Call in to the Mill Theatre Box Office, which is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. The theatre re-opens at 7pm when there is an evening performance.

To book tickets over the phone...
The telephone number to call is 01-296 9340. The information needed is the date and event you wish to attend, and how many tickets you require. If booking by credit card, you will need to give your card number and expiry date, your name and address. You should have an alternative date in mind, just in case your first choice is not available. There is no booking fee for telephone bookings.
