Late on Saturday 4 April, the results from the last two Balally Players performances in the RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival 2009 were announced. The very good critiques and three second place awards received by the group so far were converted, in Newry and Carrickmore, into the two first place results required to win a place in the Festival Final at the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone between 1 and 9 May.
To celebrate this achievement, all members of Balally Players are invited to attend a reception for the cast and crew in the Mill Theatre Studio on Wed 8 April.
