'Many Young Men of Twenty' by John B Keane.
The play is set in the back room of a public house during the summer around the late fifties or early sixties. The play was first published in 1961.
It's a play that makes much use of music and dance as it deals with the issue of emigration brought about by the lack of jobs at home. Many young people, particularly young men, were forced to leave their homes in Ireland and travel to England looking for work.
John B Keane was born in Listowel, Co Kerry in 1928 and died in May 2002.
