Following its absence last year, our ever-popular 'Christmas at Marlay' variety show is back this year. Two stalwarts of the group, Mary Ryan and Margaret Toomey (of Fair City fame!) will be casting a wide range of acting and singing talent for this hugely popular show.

Men and women of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join in.

Two one-act plays are planned for the Maureen O'Hara Studio at the Mill Theatre in late November. Both of these plays will be cast by the directors over two nights on Monday 28 September and Tuesday 29 September at 7:30pm, also in St. Tiernan's School.

Pat Hand is the director for 'The Dock Brief', by John Mortimer. This is a hilarious legal satire, requiring two male actors, ages are flexible.

Lorcan Dunne is the director for a Woody Allen comedy called 'Riverside Drive', one from his famous New York trilogy. This one needs two male actors and one female, playing ages anywhere from 30-55.

The workshop 'A Physical Approach to Theatre' will be facilitated by Veronica Coburn, Barabbas Theatre Company


She will present a number of exercises that allow participants to consider the physicality of theatre in a number of ways.
· the impact of the individual actor on stage: Is what you are doing physically on stage in keeping with the character and the moment you are playing?
· the impact of many bodies on stage: This introduces the basic elements of ensemble.
· the impact of visual image on stage: A piece of theatre is like a moving painting. How do you maximise the visual impact of your work?
This workshop is NOT about athleticism or acrobatics! It is about a way of thinking about theatre. It is suitable for all ages and physical abilities!

Places are limited so it is necessary to book in advance.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and confirmation of your reserved place will be emailed to you on Thursday 24 September.
Cost: �10 per person / (�5 concession to paid-up members) payable upon arrival.
