Event Title: Two One Acts: Riverside Drive & The Dock Brief
Where: Mill Theatre Studio, Dundrum
Tuesday, 24 November 2015
Time: 20:00
|
Balally Players presents a duo of one act comedies in the Maureen O'Hara Studio at the Mill Theatre between 24 and 28 November 2015.
'The Dock Brief', written by Jim Mortimer, features a cynical and unsuccessful barrister (Wilfred Morgenhall) with 40 years of undistinguished practice. He is overjoyed to be assigned the defence of an accused murderer. Through a series of courtroom scenes and flashbacks the lead-up to the crime unfolds. In this Balally Players production, 'The Dock Brief' is directed by Patrick Hand and features Michael Sharp and Pat O'Grady in the cast.
'Riverside Drive', written by Woody Allen is one of the playwright's lesser-known works. It is a darkly comic one-act about the relationship between screenwriter Jim Swain and Fred Savage. Savage who is a homicidal, paranoid, schizophrenic vagrant ex-copywriter, has been stalking Swain for weeks, convinced that his prey stole his idea - in fact, his life - to create a successful movie plot. 'Riverside Drive' is directed by Lorcan Dunne with Sean Murphy, Brendan Dunne and Ailbhe Harding in the cast.
